Last Night's Action: A Perfect Night For The Locals

  • Yankees 4 Baltimore 1: No Jorge, no problem for the Yankees as Francisco Cervelli did it all for the Yankees Tuesday. Cervelli went 3-for-3, scored two runs and made a fantastic catch in support of AJ Burnett. AJ was pretty good himself, lasting into the eighth inning and striking out 8 to improve to 4-0 on the season. With Mariano still overcoming a slight strain, Joba closed the game for his second-straight save.

  • Mets 5 Cincinnati 4: Rod Barajas was the hero as he hit a home run to break up a 4-4 tie in the ninth. Barajas’ blast bailed out the Mets bullpen, which couldn’t hold a 4-2 lead costing John Maine the chance to win his second game of the year. Maine had his second-straight good start, a very positive development for New York. K-Rod pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save of the year.

Big Francisco Cervelli fan, and this was an amazing game for him. Hope the Yankees groom him to stay with the team for the long-term.

The Randy Winn home run was from Monday night's game, not Tuesday's.

  • MY mistake—thanks for pointing it out.
