Rex Ryan Says Holmes Was Asleep During iPod SNAFU

050210santionio.jpg Jets Coach Rex Ryan continues to defend model citizen Santonio Holmes, saying he had just fallen asleep when he got in trouble for not turning off his iPod on a flight to Pittsburgh Thursday night. Ryan claims he had turned his iPod off, but fell asleep with the buds in his ear, prompting the fiasco the Post is calling "iPodgate." "He literally handed the ear things to the lady sitting beside him, and she said, ‘Yeah, you can’t hear anything. They’re off," said Ryan.

Santonio was questioned by the police when he landed at 9 p.m., and was released without arrest or charges. He didn't seem to fazed by the incident, later tweeting "Dinner at Musashi Japanese Steakhouse eating good." He also retweeted a fan's concern, "Up reading ESPN News...I wish people would leave @santonio10 alone...now yall are just nit-picking." LEAVE SANTONIO ALONE!
