Last Cool Day

Looks like the city will have a brisk day today as an upper level low travels east along I-90. That path is pulling a pool of cool air over the Northeast and also some fairly gusty winds. Today's high may creep into the upper 50s but it won't feel very warm with the wind blasting out of the northwest at 20-25 mph. It is not likely, but don't be surprised if an isolated shower pops up this afternoon.

Everyone knows the ideal gas law, right? It comes into play for tomorrow's forecast. Air will be subsiding as a high pressure system approaches the region. Subsiding air gets compressed and compressed air warms because all those air molecules get real chummy and slam into each other more often. Anyway, despite the breezy conditions tomorrow will be ten degrees warmer than today.

Friday and the weekend promise to be even warmer. High pressure will be upon us bringing with it a mix of sun and clouds and a high in the upper 70s on Friday. May will start off in the lower 80s on Saturday and Sunday.

Thank God. Time to do laundry's tight and I'm running out of hoodies.
