Death-Dodging Dog Gets Lawyer To Beat System

phpWjFVqrPM.jpg A 2-year-old pit bull on death row has managed to dodge the lethal injection he was sentenced to after biting a father and daughter in the Bronx. Snoop has been under the watch of the city's Animal Care & Control at a shelter since January, and his secret weapon to staying alive is lawyer Rachel Hirschfeld.

After the biting incident took place (which caused no permanent inuries, by the way), Snoop's owner found Hirschfeld, who has been working for free. She told the Daily News, "By hook or by crook, I've kept this thing going. I'll do anything I can to keep him alive." She's demanding the dog's rights are not tossed by the wayside, and he can't be executed until Snoop gets a hearing before an administrative law judge.

Until the hearing happens (currently one isn't scheduled), Hirschfeld is angling for a plea deal. The dog's owner says she'll get him neutered, muzzled and keep him fenced in if they two are allowed to reunited. In the meantime, Snoop has made plenty of friends at the shelter, where he reportedly enjoys neck scratches and Boar's Head bologna. Death row pit bulls: they're just like us.

"She's demanding the dog's rights are not tossed by the wayside" WTF??? Dogs have rights??? Since when? Its not in the Constitution or Bill of Rights. Remember that this is an animal and NOT a person. If it was up to me I would exterminate the pit bull breed. These dogs are nothing but trouble all the time. I got bit by one 2 years ago and insisted to my neighbors that the dog be put down. They accused me of taunting the animal which was BS. However it did not end well for that dog.

Glad you're not in any position of authority, Herr Exterminator.

FYI Pit Bulls and Staffordshire Terriers are excellent companion and family dogs ... it's the people (you know, the people with rights, in the, uh constitution and stuff) who train, and guide, and reward the violent behavior of a small demograph of these animals. The idiot who didn't spay or neuter his dog or train it or muzzle it is the one who should be punished, not the breed. If your genius plan to exterminate the whole breed where to actually be carried out, the tough-guy badass gangster rhetoric would still live on, just in a different breed.

The only redeeming quality of your idea would be seeing a chihuahua named "Blade" with a 35 lb. bike chain around it's neck.

e's no relation to me. He's a mean SOB that should be put down. The dog meanwhile deserves a second chance.

thank you Snooppy. why didn't this man neuter his dog? why didn't he secure the backyard. some people don't deserve dogs. But yes, please give this dog a 2nd chance.

This waste of resources should be put to sleep immediately. By that I mean the lawyer.

Is the owner going to say how much of a good boy snoop is - how he's always well behaved and has never acted out like this?
