Diandra Douglas's Parenting Questioned

As Cameron Douglas awaits a decision on where he'll serve time, the Post is railing on his mother Diandra Douglas (ex-wife of Michael Douglas), saying the judge should have tossed her jet-setting ass in jail, too!

At the center of their criticism they question her choice to vacation in Spain over staying with her son who was under house arrest at her UES townhouse at the time. A friend of the 31-year-old told the paper, "She left [him] with no parental supervision. Most of us thought the right thing to do would have been to tell the judge, 'Keep him in jail until I get back.'" Cameron will now serve 5 years behind bars for dealing crystal meth; during that house arrest he also had heroin delivered via an electric toothbrush carried by his girlfriend.

Cameron's godmother was the author of one of the recent letters sent to the court asking that the troubled celebrity spawn get a lenient sentencing. In it, she noted he was raised "with enormous privilege and little structure" by an immature Diandra. Not all that surprising coming from a woman who lightens her adopted daughter's hair because it isn't blonde enough, and tried to return her twins (birthed by a surrogate) when she found out they were going to be boys!

Cameron is a big boy! One would think he is marginally intelligent and able to think and make decisions for himself. Cameron had a better life than most of the people he was distributing meth to. How many lives has he destroyed dealing meth? What happened to his girlfriend? Did he destroy her life to? Diandra might not have been a stellar mother, but she was not that bad. I hear there are more drugs available in prison than on the outside, to bad the judge didn’t sentence you to the full 10 years so that you could enjoy yourself.

I'm assuming this house arrest was a slap on the wrist for a previous charge that should ave required jail time. Then while on this weak punishment he risked it all by selling more!

He should have gotten the MINIMUM 10 YEARS!!!

Because you'd expect that a 31 year old would require supervision.

Exactly, thank you! WTF is wrong w/society when you're blaming a woman for not babysitting her 31yr old son?? gimme a break. Regardless of her character or actions, she should NOT feel compelled to sit at home and babysit a 31yr old. And doesn't house arrest almost always give you some sort of monitoring device?

He would if he's under house arrest. SOMEone needed to be there.
