Gorilla Coffee May Be Reopening Next Week

2010_04_gcofee.jpg Gorilla Coffee, the Park Slope coffee joint that closed almost two weeks ago thanks to a staff walkout over a "perpetually malicious, hostile, and demeaning work environment," may be open for java junkies soon. City Room reports that it will be open on Monday, "So said the smiling woman inside the half-rolled-up gate of the shop at Fifth Avenue and Park Place at 7 Friday evening." Guess they have rebuilt and restaffed accordingly.

Wow. All the employees quit at once over a perpetually malicious, hostile and demeaning work environment?? Note to management; I realize it's very subtle but there may be a message here somewhere. While you look for the hidden meaning I'm getting my caffeine fix going forward at Blue Sky bakery instead. Coffee is 10 times better, baked goods are insanely delicious, and the management and employees are really nice. And just a few blocks up fifth avenue. So as far as reopening, no need to rush, there are much better alternatives right nearby.
