Shrink Says Ex-NY 1 Reporter Never Blames Herself

A psychologist testifying in the Adele Sammarco sexual harassment case said Sammarco was paranoid, narcissistic and maybe not a good reporter. Time Warner (NY1's parent company) lawyers paid Dr. Paul Nassar $500 an hour to evaluate Sammarco, and he concluded she believed "all of her claims were justified and had nothing to do with her, but had to do with the biases and prejudices of others." Nasser also said, "She fantasized about being a great reporter" and suggested she is suing because she's disappointed about her career. Sammarco brought the suit against NY1, claiming she had been sexually harassed by her coworkers. However, numerous coworkers have testified that she called other people derogatory nicknames and enjoyed jokes made at her expense.

Huh? Is this normal? You sue somebody, so they get to hire a shrink to sit down with you and conclude you are an asshole?

That sounds pretty craaaaazy - everybody knows hired experts are biased, and since psychology is so subjective you are basically buying a character witness.

The people who should sue never do and the people who shouldn't always do. Give all women a bad name. This sudden rash of suits from the Hills, to Desperate Housewives, to Steven Segal. It's ridiculous. If they have the proof..more power to them. But most of them seem like people are getting on the "I am being fired, let me sue" bandwagon.

Sadly not. Perhaps if they hired more local talent, instead of transplants who can't tell between Woodlawn and Woodside.

Oh, as for Sammarco- she hasn't been able ot find a journalism job since her NY1 termination. So who's she to say that she's a great reporter?
