The weather is behaving itself quite nicely this week. The forecast hasn't changed much at all since Monday. Clouds should build up this afternoon as a weak cold front approaches the region. Today's high will be in the lower 70s. Conditions are perfect for a sea breeze. Places right along the shore will see a sudden temperature drop once the breeze gets going this afternoon. The sea breeze may be potent enough to kick off a few showers, especially to the east of the city. A more widespread, but still slight, chance of rain occurs tonight and tomorrow when a secondary front crosses the Northeast. The two fronts are kind of wimpy so tomorrow won't be much cooler than today.
High pressure will be in charge again by Friday. Look for mostly sunny skies and a high in the mid 60s. The sun should continue to shine on Saturday, when the high is expected to be in the upper 60s. The atmosphere gets a bit unruly on Sunday when a warm front will try to push away the high pressure system. This sort of thing, where warm, moist air tries to displace a dry air mass, is not easy to do. As a result we could be in for several days of clouds and rain.
All this warm weather, this will almost certainly be the warmest April by far, means the trees are bursting with pollen. The pollen counts will be practically off the charts until we do get a significant rainfall. Oak and maple trees appear to be the major spore producers at the moment.
