Kentucky Senate Race Invokes 9/11... Enter Giuliani

2010_04_911rand.jpg Former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani has jumped into Kentucky's Senate race not just because he's a nationally known Republican—it's because the two Republican candidates have been talking about 9/11! Rand Paul—yes, son of Rep. Ron Paul (R)—and Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson are vying to take retiring Senator Jim Bunning's seat, and the race is so heated that Paul aired an ad showing footage of NYC and the Pentagon on 9/11, which made Grayson upset enough to roll out an ad saying that Paul thinks America deserved the 9/11 attacks...and then Paul put out another one... Seriously, check out these ads:

Giuliani threw his support behind Grayson, "Trey Grayson is the candidate in this race who will make the right decisions necessary to keep America safe and prevent more attacks on our homeland. He is not part of the 'blame America first' crowd that wants to bestow the rights of U.S. citizens on terrorists and point fingers at America for somehow causing 9/11." Grayson has been trailing Paul by the double digits; a "self-described Glenn Beck enthusiast" told CQ Politics he was leaning towards Grayson—until he saw him speak, "He sounded to me like a party hack."

9/11 is INCREDIBLY important to Kentucky. 7% of the states sales taxes are based the on sales of "Never Again" shirts, American flags emblazoned with weeping Eagles, and bootleg videos of Bo and Luke Duke giving Saddam Hussein a wedgie.

Kentucky still has not recovered from the terrible tragedy it experienced on 9/11.

    Both should be disqualified.

The New York neocons are running scared. I can't believe they think anyone in Kentucky gives one flaming **** about 9/11 or yet another Harvard grad.

He opposes the Patriot Act! THAT MEANS HE IS ON THE SIDE OF THE BRITISH! HE'S A LOYALIST!

Madness. Does anyone really support the Patriot Act?

People from Kentucky get pretty worked up over 9/11 just like the rest of America. But they don't give a flaming **** what Giuliani has to say, he's just some other Yankee to them.

Here I come to save the day! That means that 9/11 Man is on his way!
