Police Identify Man Suspected of Shooting 5-Year-OId Girl

041510bilal.jpg Investigators have released this photo of a man suspected of opening fire on a Bed-Stuy street on Sunday afternoon, wounding three people, including a 5-year-old girl. Adam Bilal, 24, is suspected of shooting Syniah Herndon in the leg, and shooting Jamel Franklin, 20, and Darnell Billinghurst, 23, in their arms. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening. Cops say Syniah was caught in the crossfire while playing outside her home on Halsey Street; she later told her mom, "I shouldn't have gone outside today."

Witnesses identified Bilal as the shooter who stepped out of a silver Nissan and opened fire with a .45 caliber handgun. Initial reports said that there were two shooters, but it's unclear if investigators are still pursuing a second suspect. The motive is also unclear, and Bilal is still at large. Anyone with information about the case is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, by texting TIP577 to CRIMES, or by going to NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.

this is all a big mistake. look at adam, look at that face. clearly, he is college educated, gainfully employed, and a civilized member of society who pays taxes. his mom says he is the best son in the history of sons. and jamel and darnell? they don't work or go to school, but they volunteer at non-profits to help mankind. no drugs or thugs here, people. move along.

    "The motive is also unclear,..."

Because he probably didn't have one.

Not to start the whole race issue, but how often does this happen in Forrest Hills. Where is the "good" reverend when shit like this happens in a "black" community??? He only shows his face when cops get involved.

love the way you started that with "not to start the whole race issue". Thats not what you were doing at all right?

"I shouldn't have gone outside today."

No, Syniah, you should never have to be afraid to go outside and play. The guy who did this to you is a terrorist and should be treated as such.

It's pretty hard for me to argue against an eye-for-the-eye-you-tried-to-take in this situation. Not only did the guy agree to to terms of his engagement and the possibility of death, he made that same decision for other people who were not involved. The guy should be put to death for selfishness, for insane egotism, for the decision that it's okay to possibly hurt innocents while pursuing his efforts at murder.

That innocents were actually hurt is just proof of situation.

Useless as a human. Perhaps he would be more useful for society if he was mulch.
