  • Yankees 7 Anaheim 5: The rain held off, the rings were distributed and the Yankees won. That’s about as close to perfect as you can get. Nick Johnson homered and A-Rod and Jeter added two RBI’s each. Andy Pettitte went six shutout innings with the bullpen backing him up until David Robertson faltered in the ninth. But, Mariano Rivera came in and shut the door to preserve the win and send the Yankees to their fifth win of the season.
  • Rockies 11 Mets 3: The Mets were able to score consecutive runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings. Unfortunately, John Maine allowed eight runs in the first three innings of the game.

Going to a long summer for the Mets fans.

The last few home games for the Mets they were averaging 65-68% capacity! What has happened to the Mets fans? Gave up on them?

    The tickets are expensive.

While the food is noticeably better, the prices are too high.

I don't enjoy paying $4.50 for a soda or a bag of peanuts.

Simple economics really. Whether the Mets win or lose, play well or sloppy.. I will always enjoy going to a game with my son, especially on a nice day, but it costs too much to do it frequently

Those ticket prices are ridiculous and the team stinks. When I went to Met games in the early 80s general admission was $3. You could sit anywhere in the last ten rows of the upper deck-no need for bullshit kiosks and "fan experiences".

The ticket prices are the main thing keeping me away. With the cost of living going up and wages not keeping pace, I have to prioritize. I already pay for cable with SNY so going to a game is not necessary to watch it (or listen on WFAN). I treat my wife and me to a couple of games a year for fun no matter whether the team is winning or losing. It's fun to go to the ballpark and enjoy a summer afternoon.

Maine is becoming a problem and the decision is going to have to be made soon about whether he'll be in the starting five or not. The way he looked today, I'd say that the odds are against him. Mets hitting isn't really clicking but it's improving. The Mets just seem demoralized out there -- listless. That's a bad thing this early in the season. If they can't get going then I think you have to seriously consider switching gears as far as management is concerned and that means Jerry but especially Omar. Sadly, they can't get rid of Jeff Wilpon.
