Awww. Love that photo. Brooklyn with it's flowering trees. Few places I'd rather be.

F Schumer. He's worried that it'll be a way for airlines to avoid a portion of taxes on the ticket price. Seriously F him. Is he that much against us having cheaper airline tickets? Seriously? Those taxes are paid explicitly by us and if we can lower those a portion, I'm all for it. Not everybody gets to fly around on the tax payer's dime, we have to work for our dimes (and his) so give us F-ing break.

  • Mr Mel

Yeah, save those dimes. One + One =2. If the airlines want to compete without raising the prices, the profit, small as it is has to come from somewhere. I was on a plane last week, and the carry on luggage was overwhelming. The only way we're going to get the free baggage on the plane is to pay more for the flight.

I'm really surprised somebody on here agreed with me. Yeah, there's no free lunches out there. If they can shave $25 off my ticket and make me pay a $22 fee for my checked luggage, I'm all about it.

  • ANGRYGOD11

I'm surprised you are willing to accept this abuse.

Spirit Airlines wants to charge a fee for a non-service other forms of transportation wouldn't dream about. When anyone can tell me what I'm supposed to be paying for, except supply Spirit Air with some cash, please let me know.

You are ANGRY. Well it's like I said, there are no free lunches. The issue here isn't that Schumer is worried about us not being able to carry bags on, he's worried it'll hurt tax revenue. Currently taxes are largely paid on the airfare and not the fees. If you switch part of the cost from ticket to fee, it lowers the taxes we pay on our total trip. If you think that they are just trying to put more cash in their pocket, they are! Isn't every business out there trying to do the same? But this will allow them to lower the ticket prices, thus driving more business.
