Police are seeking a suspect believed to be involved in nine burglaries in the East Village on East 9th, 11th, and 13th Streets, St. Marks Place, and Avenues B and C. According to MyFoxNY, "The brazen burglar has struck at least nine apartments from March 10 through April 3, police said. He even hit one building twice in one day -- once in the morning and once at night."
Apparently the suspect—police released a photograph of him—usually enters apartments through windows, though he has entered by a rear door, roof and sliding door. One victim told WCBS 2 that the burglar left "Some of our cutlery, our kitchen knives, upstairs on [a roommate's] bed - so basically, [the burglar] was protecting himself"; in this instance, police believe he was "buzzed into the building... then walked up to the roof, disabled the door alarm, and came into the apartment through the windows."
A list of the burglaries is after the jump. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers (800 577 TIPS/8477), log on WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or text 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577 and the tip.
