Thanks to some quick thinking from a kidnapped woman, Port Authority police were able to rescue her from a jealous boyfriend who locked her in a car and attempted to take her to New Jersey. NJ.com reports that Queens native Freddy Pulla was arrested yesterday and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, and domestic violence.

The incident allegedly began when the victim tried to break up with Pulla in the car. Pulla said he would drive her to a friends house, but then locked the doors and took off for New Jersey. However, the victim reclined her seat and called her mother without Pulla noticing, staying on the line as her mother called the police. She even managed to stay on after Pulla noticed she was on the phone, pulled her hair and knocked the phone out of her hands, according to the Post.

The victim was able to tell her mother where she was, and her mother relayed the information to police on their trail. Eventually, police found and stopped Pulla's car. Port Authority Lt. Robert Vargas said the victim "was shaking and crying and in disbelief that we were able to track her down and get her out of that mess."
