This June 14th both the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, will be inducted into the Apollo Theater's Hall of Fame. Jackson first performed there with his brothers in the late 1960s... as part of Amateur Night. They won, and the rest is pretty much history. But did you know that MJ was an insane beatboxer? We didn't until seeing this video, and his honor as an Apollo Legend is as good a time as any to share it:
Following his death last year, fans gathered at the Apollo for a tribute to the performer. And while he won't be at the induction in June, Aretha Franklin does plan to be in attendance.

Michael is awesome. I think he deserves this honour, and I'm happy that there will be a new documentary this June called "Gone Too Soon". It's all good.

The way he can layer several vocal lines at once, some near the top of his range and others at the bottom, is f**king incredible. Thanks for posting. One question, how is it that the Apollo hadn't already inducted the most successful entertainer of all time into it's Hall of Fame? Yo no se. Fly on, Mike.

Awesome! It's true, we forget how talented he was. I flipped when I first heard Off the Wall.

This is golden. Thanks for posting it.

Damn! This guy was, above all else, a SERIOUS vocal talent. Such a damn shame it's overshadowed by all his crazy shenanigans.
