Building Collapses On Conselyea Street In Brooklyn

Well the DOB is concerned about one thing...outdoor advertising. I mean who cares if cranes and buildings are falling? There are legal signs to ticket!

I agree why not shut down the DOB entirely! I have several buildings (in williamsburg) being illegally renovated and built on my block that I've called the DOB on. Nothing ever happens. I even tried calling the police at 3AM when the building 2 doors down was being illegally excavated. This is a building that was condemned and deemed unsafe for habitation. The police basically told me it wasn't their problem and that I should report them to the DOB. Not the answer I was looking to hear, as this building could have easily collapsed. It's quite discouraging to know that nothing will ever happen to this delinquent landlord until the building collapses, which by the looks of things could be any day now.

Actually, Commissioner LiMandri is the best chief the DoB has had in a long time - he actually makes an effort to protect the workers and the community, unlike his predecessors, who were always in the pockets of the developers and the contractors.

Why don't we just shut down the DOB entirely? How much of a difference would it really make, since they seem to have no power to do anything except accept bribes?

So, being unable to gain access to a building is the new standard for the DOB closing cases? No wonder the building collapsed.

Nothing new about it; it's always been that way. The problem is that the DOB has no authority to compel anyone to give them access.

The DOB tried to gain access twice, but was unable to, so the complaint was closed.

Sigh. The DOB is so fucking easy to give the run-around to, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

Dickchicken is some loser who's been tagging up the neighborhood like crazy for about a year and a half. Has a fine arts degree, no doubt.

And very uncreative. He is a dick for defacing other people's property and a chicken for the way that he stalks around at night, hiding his wiry frame in the shadows.

the "immunity" convicted criminal Bloomberg enjoys is NOT LEGAL. (See: 14th Amendment's Equal Protection clause which says the laws must be applied equally, black or white, rich or poor, govt employee or civilian. What the hell are all the lawyers doing in this town?)

AND BLOOMBAG IS A CONVICTED CRIMINAL. He has been found guilty by numerous judges and juries of serious crimes but they don't cuff him b/c of these legal semantics.

Technically I think the workers and others can SUE THE BLOOMBAG ADMINISTRATION for criminal negligence etc.
