Brianna Zani—the 21-year-old who first went missing one week ago today, only to be brought to Woodhull Hospital and promptly escape—has been found. Her family was readying to make a desperate plea on CNN last night when Zani showed back up at her Bushwick apartment at 5 p.m., unharmed.
Her father, Will Zani, says his daughter had no idea people were looking for her. In the past week a number of websites, Facebook groups and fliers have been created, while search teams filled with friends and strangers were organized via Twitter. She told him she was sorry “to cause such a fuss.’’
According to her family, Zani has battled depression and may suffer from bipolar disorder; it is believed that when she originally left her apartment, with all of her all of her belongings behind, she had stopped taking an experimental antidepressant called Levomilnacipran.
