Wedding Hall Sued After Going Bust With Bride's Deposit

Queens resident Jennifer Daddio was promised "enchanting river views" and the "best of everything" when she forked over a considerable deposit for her Summer wedding. But just 12 days after the payment was made, Hudson Valley restaurant/catering hall Monteverde at Oldstone Manor went bankrupt and, later, the wedding planner quit. According to court papers obtained by the Daily News, the 28-year-old "has not had one moment of joy or happiness related to her wedding day and instead has experienced extreme stress and anxiety over whether her wedding reception for 200 guests would proceed as planned."

Daddio was prepared to pay $150 per head and had signed a contract for three-course dinner, with the wedding's total cost coming in at $40,000, reports the News. (Monteverde shares an owner with Allen & Delancey restaurant.) One tabloid reports that her deposit was $9,600 and the other says it was $17,000, but however much she paid, it's clear the alleged deadbeats messed with the wrong bride: Daddio is a lawyer and took her case straight to Queens Supreme Court. The "defendant's conduct has turned what should have been a joyous occasion for an engaged couple into a complete and utter disaster," says her suit.

Im pretty sure she didn't file a lawsuit to get her name in the paper moron. Plus I heard she's hot.

If she had read the fine print she would have noticed "best of everything" literally means everything like the best disappointment, false promise and fuck over they can provide.

That's what she gets for not going with Grand Prospect Hall. They make your dreams come true.

As a lawyer, doesn't she realize that they went into bankruptcy and she is an unsecured creditor and therefore screwed? Why waste your time? I guess it gets your name in the paper....

Allen and Delancy is one shady restaurant. Went there once and the credit card charge on my statement showed up as some spa. Tax fraud much?
