Kate Winslet And Sam Mendes Split

Actress Kate Winslet was recently spotted at the Bell House in Gowanus (catching the band Beach House)—does that mean the Oscar winner will be out on the town more now that she's split up with husband Sam Mendes? A friend told the Daily News she ended it because "she felt bored. When Sam isn't working, he'd just as soon stay home. Kate loves going out." Well, the couple are separated by a decade; Mendes is 44, to Winslet's 34.

Allegedly there was some stress while the two were working on 2008's Revolutionary Road, and since last summer they've been living separate lives. Word of the split came yesterday, and Winslet was spotted today in Mexico, smokin' cigarettes and sipping cocktails.

A source told the Post that the NY-based family hasn't been spotted at their Chelsea home lately.

hahahahaa maybe HOLLYWOOD marriage should be banned for threatening the sanctity of the institution. Then all hollywood actors would picket and protest the ban on celebrity marriage. poor famous people. I feel bad for them. oh well. I liked her in spotless sunshine.

Thank god this was the most pretentious hollywood couple yet. all the movies they did together were boring, cynical, self-righteous takes on suburban marriages. Guess you weren't as enlightened as you thought... one can only watch one's wife movie-fuck younger, hotter guys so many times...
