Corey Haim Had Enlarged Heart, Pulmonary Congestion

php5My34cAM.jpg Actor Corey Haim died of pulmonary congestion, according to the LA County Coroner's Office, who also said he had an enlarged heart and his lungs were filled with water. Yesterday his mother Judy talked to Access Hollywood with the report, after she received the call from the coroner explaining what was found during her son's autopsy. There are no toxicology reports yet, but four different medications were taken from his room when he died on Wednesday.

Two of those pills were Soma and Valium, which were prescribed to him just a few days before his death by a psychiatrist. TMZ has an eerie video of the actor listing off medications, including those, that he's taken and been addicted to. The footage is from his show The Two Coreys, and during the episode Corey Feldman takes him to the doctor because of heart problems he'd been experiencing. Haim tells the doctor, "This whole thing is weird to me, I'm off the drugs, and I feel like I'm going to die being clean."

Please explain why people still ask this stupid question? Just enjoy the free blog.

A free blog that's allegedly meant to focus on NYC news, arts & culture. Which, Incidentally gets the majority of it's news from other sources. My question is no more stupid than your ignorance. People Magazine will cover this nonsense. That gothamist is free hardly makes it enjoyable.

Pulmonary edema is a condition caused by a variety of co-existent diseases, including heart muscle disease.

It is possible he had an undiagnosed heart condition that lead to pulmonary edema. It is premature to connect the pulmonary edema with drug use, although it is possible.

Soma is a nearly obsolete muscle relaxant that has become a drug of abuse. Many Adderall and Ritalin addicts use Soma to potentiate the effect of the stimulant. I am very suspicious when a patient asks for a prescription for soma and I can't imagine a legitimate reason in the world for a psychiatrist to prescribe Soma. This guy needs to be investigated: he could be the next doctor for Michael Jackson.

oh, we've got a doctor in the house.

Question: I've been battling plantar facistis ("PF")and I've been primarily just taking Aspirin and other OTC anti-inflamatories (ibuprofin, advil). My question, since, PF isn't really curable, will I be ok if I just keep popping those pills to combat the inflamation? Like, will my liver die if I keep taking the pills? Can I just pop those pills and drink and party?

Or, do I need to see an actual doctor and like get off my feet for 2 months for it to heal?

    Thx!
