Two high school students were arrested for slashing a 20-year-old woman's hand and stabbing an 18-year-old man in the face and back in the Columbus Circle subway station yesterday afternoon. According to the Daily News, cops cuffed Independence High School students Nathaniel Flores and Rafael Anderson, both 17, for the incident, which occurred in an underground walkway in the station at around 3 p.m. The tabloid notes that the victims—identified as Devon Baldwin and Kalimah Tresdale—knew the suspects, and The Post reports the victims are also high school students.

How about Norman Thomas or Julia Richman High Schools. If you go by them when the school day ends you'll see as many cops there as they have at the UN to protect a Head Of State.

  • Elizabeth

ugh, my office is right down the street from this high school..when the students exit the building and go to the subway they scream, yell, kick garbage cans, and basically act as obnoxious and loud as possible. The doormen are constantly picking up the debris in their wake.

  • Ph

Jeez, what the fuck is going on. Its like future perps of America week here in NYC.

  • Outter Burrougher

no, once you stab someone, you're a modern day perp, no matter how young you are

  • whitecastlerock

Did the victims know any self defense to ward off the knife wielding attackers? Perhaps they all need a humane education

  • Mr Mel

    Or a Glock.

  • junglisticman

Oh no someone else exist and doesnt fall in line with my social standards. Get over yourselves you are not the only ones living in this city.

  • cutlass

Could you perhaps tell me exactly where people (and I'm using the word loosely)that stab other people in the face "fall in line with social standards?"

  • mocanlagunas

the problem is they don't fall in line with ANY social standards. THEY are not the only ones living in this city.

  • Tower18

I hate, HATE riding the subway between 2 and 4, when these fucking HS kids are roaming about. It's terrible.

  • Wza

    Yep.

Screaming, yelling, taking up 5 seats, eating Cheetos or chicken wings with ketchup.

Manhattan is full of schools with the dregs of the five boroughs. Their all rounded up from school districts that wouldn't want get their fingerprints on those train wrecks. And they've all got these cloyingly upbeat names like "School for the Physical City". Anytime I come across places with names like that, I clear the hell out of there.

  • Troy

ya wonder why they gonna lose those free transit passes,

Those tolerated shananagins & get ejected from the system and it will cost those lil muthas a long walk home....not waiting 15 minutes until the patrol shift changes..

  • Tar_Baby

A new policy for free MTA passes should be implemented based on academic performance. Students who average a B or above get to have free MTA passes. Dumbasses who get less than a B average are on their own. Why should the rest of us pay for these fuckups to fuck around in Transit? Seriously.

  • Think2wice

How about being forced to listen to a 10 year old boy coming on to a 9 year old girl.

I wanted to vomit, take a shower, then vomit again.

  • Eugene

And that's why I don't read the Post; utter incoherent garbage.

  • Mr Mel

Now that Gothamist is getting some pretty heavy advertising revenue from the NY Times, perhaps they'll go there for the news instead of the Post. However it wont be as much fun.

  • longacre

Not every paper covers every story. The Times has not published anything about this incident, for example.

  • longacre

What are you talking about? What did they do wrong in this story?

  • Eugene

Two high school students were hospitalized after being stabbed the in the Columbus Circle subway station

    So, it was the students...

A fight involving students ... broke out ... and a girl was cut on the hand and boy slashed on the face and back

    Or was it?

What girl/boy were injured--the students, or some bystanders? Kinda hard to tell from the piss-poor quality of their article.
