Hummer Limo Decides to Just Own It With "Kill the Poor" Logo

When it's around 5 p.m. on a Friday and a tipster sends you a photo of a Hummer limo with the words KILL THE POOR emblazoned on it, you don't blink, you just react and share it with the world. Is this really a thing? Is it promoting some album or reality show we're not yet aware of? How poor is poor enough to qualify for extermination? Unclear, but what better way to start the weekend than enjoying the Dead Kennedys' caustic punk go-go classic (listen below) while imagining Jello Biafra lounging ironically in the back, en route to Madison Avenue to finally sell out in a major way? This is real freedom rock, so turn it up, man:

Wow, that is just weird. What type of music is go go punk? Sounds like something that would make my head hurt. I must say the limo is nice though. I had a great experience nyc limo service A Stretch Out and I was very pleased!

  • I saw this this afternoon on 8th Ave at 42 and couldn't get a shot off fast enough... seems like viral advertising

It says "EAT THE RICH" on the other side. Really.

BTW, Jello Biafra will be performing at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple on March 25 with his new band, "The Guantanamo School of Medicine."

Unfortunately didn't get a photo when I saw it, but here's a Twitter user who confirms:

Amazing how everything in the photo has a slight blur and lack of clear detail expect the hummer and its kill the poor words! What photo magic!

blog comment sightings aside, that does look like photoshop work to me. might be wrong but I sort of doubt it. the back of the limo is blurry, the front isn't, yet the words are all super sharp and evenly lit.

Have you ever tried taking a night photo of a moving object? This exposure was at least 1/8 of a second and the photographer was almost certainly panning to track the limo, hence everything else being blurred. Yeah, I guess we should all go back to the good, old days of film cameras that few people had with them at all times and even fewer could operate proficiently, especially on the spur of the moment before the shot is gone. And since most people didn't do night photography back then, what are the odds that they would have it loaded with a nice ASA 400 film and a good, fast prime lens that would allow a blur-free 1/30 second exposure?

  • hunter.blatherer

I'd think 1600 speed film would have been more appropriate. Otherwise yeah, it's great that more people can document their world now.

  • Spirit of 76

Maybe more appropriate, but how many photographers back in the day even had ASA 1600 film? I almost always ran 25-100, either Kodachrome or Fujichrome. Only dedicated night photographers ran higher than 400. 1600 wasn't the kind of stuff you'd find at the local Duane Reade.

Amazing that now that everybody and his dog has a digital camera or camera phone you almost never see even halfway decent photography, or a demonstration of the ability to actually focus on the desired point of interest.

  • Gotham Extremist

I agree w/ Trump, they all should be killed!

  • NannyState

    Except for the hot ones!
