Citi Field "C" Plunges to the Ground

Citi Field is falling apart, starting with the first letter of its name. On January 25th, sources say the 15-foot-long, 35-pound "C" on the stadium's marquee came crashing down. "Once it hit the ground, it shattered into a bunch of pieces," a team insider told The Post. Seeking to soften the announcement which will be added to a pile of complaints about the facility, officials put it more delicately, saying the letter "fluttered to the ground."

According to the Mets strong wind gusts and rain caused the letter C to plummet 200 feet. Luckily no one was sitting in the seats below, as one source noted, "Something falling from that height, it will definitely split your head."

Previously leaks and mold were uncovered in luxury suites, including one rented out by Jerry Seinfeld. Falling concrete, flooding, bad electrical work and tiling have also plagued the stadium.

Fuck citifield, honestly. I live in East Elmhurst and Shea Stadium was a great landmark for me. As a kid I'd pass by it all the time on the highway getting off on northern. I used to go to ballgames there and was amazed at the huge ramps and openness of the outside structure. I hope to never disgrace myself with entering citi field's doors.

The one good thing bloomberg did was back out of the absolutely criminal deals that Giuliani made with the Mets and Yankees for those two stadiums. It defined the very essence of the term corporate welfare.
