Small Plane Crashes Into Building In Austin, TX

2010_02_austincrash.jpg A small plane crashed into a building in Austin, TX at 9:30 a.m. The building does not contain an FBI office; the FBI has an office at another building in the same complex. According to Austinist, "There's some wild speculation flying around Twitter that the crash was intentional. Statesman reports eyewitnesses stating that the plane approached the building at 'full throttle.' One nearby eyewitness described the plane's trajectory as 'very controlled.'" Update: "12:42 p.m.: The pilot of the plane had set his house on fire beforehand, stole the plane and crashed it intentionally, a federal official told CNN." Photo: @meetKB

Below is the suicide note that he posted online.

    http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2010/images/02/18/stack.letter.pdf

Some of the things he says in the letter I cant help but agree with, his neighbors outcome. I do not however agree with how he handled it. Just goes to show what people are capable of when they watch the same people over and over get away with the same shit every year for decades and all while the average American taxpayer has to pay for their greed and stupidity!

"I do not however agree with how he handled it."

Really? That's where you and I part ways!

  • jaycjay

A visit to Austin is like going to a ghost town in Texas. Almost nobody comments. The latest post on this even has just one comment. Gothamist users are commenting more heavily on this than Austinist users.

  • jaycjay

I meant that to say "a visit to Austinist," not to Austin itself.

  • asakasan

@Jen: Granted, there are no FBI offices in the building, but don't you think it's relevant enough to mention that the building contains IRS offices? Supposedly his gripe was with them ... I would think you would mention that ...

  • glennQNYC

Thankfully this guy made it clear he is a communist in his blog entry. Mid way through I had already pictured Sec. Gibbs calling him a "Tea Bagger."

  • 40oz.killa

i don't give a F*CK what this guy has to say. His dumb ass is rotting in hell right now.

  • books

You should read it. Frankly he's a good writer and the ideas he expressed are 100% more accurate than all the bs you'll read in the media.

He was a Smart guy, he saw the strings. most people live their whole life and dont.

  • Jen S

He was a smart guy, but apparently frequent money problems drove him to stupidity. Don't glamorize him - no one makes their point through violence.

'no one makes their point through violence'

I am NOT saying violence as a tool for change is ethical or encouraging people to do it, but if you look at history, start with Herodotus, almost nothing changes without violence or civil disobediance.

This guy was fooled for his whole life to believe in the mythology of the 'USA!'...he was smart enough to realize it at some point, but not smart enough to come up with a new philsophy that would have kept him living.

Knowing its all myth, that our goverment is corrupt, and that we're powerless cogs living in a corporate state while depressing, is really, IMO, nothing to kill yourself over. There are other sides to life enjoy. Its too bad he couldnt see that.

  • Jen S

I meant that as: if we glamorize this guy for his actions, we welcome the threat of more ideologues taking to their planes/cars/pipe-bombs to express their opinions. What's most frustrating about life is the sense that you're perpetually unheard, but we can't encourage (even accidentally) extreme actions in the place of conversation.

  • ProcedureTurn

you sound pretty dumb yourself, "Mr. 40oz killa." LOL. What a dumb, dumb name. But you wouldnt know any better.

  • 40oz.killa

Ms. ProcedureTurn, why are you hating? Take a seat and get off my dick.

  • NannyState

    He was a teabagger!

  • glennQNYC

Although he had major issues with our tax code like Tea Party protesters, he states his preference for communism at the end of his blog post. This is exactly opposite of the Tea Part agenda.

  • eyekantspel

Yeah, not a tea bagger.. he rants against religion, the healthcare industry, Bush. None of that is consistent with the tea baggers. So he's just a nice non-teabaggng tax cheat made crazy by the IRS.

  • hotstepper

x2: he teabagged the building by hanging his truck nuts on the plane before taking off.

    Suicide note: http://embeddedart.com/

Plane was not stolen, the guy owned the plane.

  • NannyState

Knowing texans, the asshole probably did this over $3.62 in back-taxes.
