Biden Talks 9/11 Terror Trial, "Misinformed" Cheney

2010_02_bidenmtp.jpg Vice President Joe Biden appeared on morning talk shows today and hit a number of topics—including the 9/11 terror trial as well as his predecessor, Dick Cheney. Of where Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other alleged 9/11 terror plotters may eventually be tried, Biden said that a military tribunal has not been ruled out. Of Cheney, Biden said, "Let me choose my words carefully here... Dick Cheney's a fine fellow. He's entitled to his own opinion. He's not entitled to rewrite history. He's not entitled to his own facts."

Biden specifically mentioned Cheney's criticism of Christmas Day bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, who was read his Miranda rights, pointing out that Cheney had recommended that shoe bomber Richard Reid—during the Bush administration— be given a civilian trial. And the Vice President refuted Cheney's claims that the United States is less safe, pointing out that during Obama's term so far, "We've eliminated 12 of their top 20 people. We have taken out 100 of their associates. They are in fact not able to do anything remotely like they were in the past. They are on the run. I don't know where Dick Cheney has been. Look, it's one thing, again, to criticize. It's another thing to sort of rewrite history. What is he talking about?"

Biden also said that he was confident that KSM would be convicted on Meet the Press—here's video:

For the good of Obama's presidency and the nation as a whole, Joe Biden should not be allowed anywhere near a microphone. If he starts saying something stupid, the USAF needs to disable whichever satellite(s) may be beaming his stupidity around the world.

It's a plain fact that Team Obama kept virtually all the important Pentagon staff and Iraq policies that Bush/Cheney implemented toward the end of their tenure.

It is plain stupidity that Biden would say that a 9/11-style attack is unlikely. There's no way to prove that to be a fact, and even if there were, you just don't say it.

  • Biden is a dick!

I agree with #3, it's too easy to paint DC politicos as stupid (because it's far easier to ingest, then seeing the outright and out of the open corruption!).

"I agree with #3, it's too easy to paint DC politicos as stupid"

    They're not stupid, they're corrupt.

i object to Biden's suggestion that Dick Cheney was simply misinformed, as though Cheney is an ass too stupid to read or watch the foreign press, or otherwise check his facts before opening his mouth.

Dick Cheney is obviously not the simpleton Biden projects him to be; that was George W. Bush.

Cheney was and is an inhumane monster lacking any compassion or concern for anyone besides himself. Everything he stated or did in office was probably designed to promote a specific, desired economic goal that generally had little to do with the needs and wants of the American people and everything to do with increasing some corporations' profit margins.

Dick Cheney is no simpleton, and Joe Biden should not be permitted let him use the stupidity card to escape blame for his performance during his administration.

of course most educated people would understand how much knowledge you would have to put in practice to get away with such levels of moral corruption while being all perfectly legal, but perhaps Biden is aware that "dumbing down" messages is what gets the message across , specially to those in the "barely high-school" educated that find any reason to mistrust the government, to then forgive the most evil.

    More security theater.

the "making America safe" actions by the bush admin had to more with signing contracts with private companies that now administrate Iraqi Natural resources than finding terrorist, more with sacking museums, and investing all public money in securing the oil interests of the Bush family, and the war interests of Halliburton, than with finding bombers!

Now when the Obama admin is focusing in going where the problem is: Afghanistan and Pakistan, this republicans clowns dare to rise issues as empty as the one person "almost happened" incident in Xmas time as their proof against this admin!?

    hypocrites! That's what republicans are.

Blah blah " more with sacking museums, and investing all public money in securing the oil interests..."

Please, wipe OBL's spittle off your lips before you recopy and paste your bullshit from leftwing - jiahdi love sites.

PS - I'd rather go hunting jihadis with Dick Cheney than go driving with Biden and get in yet another / FOURTH car acccident with that looney tune excuse for an obama insurance policy.
