Bill Clinton Back At Home, Drinking Decaf & Exercising

2010_02_billclin.jpg After undergoing angioplasty surgery and having two stents placed into a clogged artery, former president Bill Clinton is resting back in Chappaqua, NY. But yesterday afternoon he found time to chat with reporters who were camped outside his home—one reporter said Clinton told them that he came outside because he was concerned about them waiting in the cold. Bubba's feeling journalists' pain!

Clinton said he had walked a bit on his treadmill and that doctors okayed the light exercise: "They said not to lift anything that weighs over 10 pounds for a week. Not to jog, but to walk, but not to walk fast up steep hills for a week, until the opening, where they did the surgery in my leg, heals."

He also said of his relentless schedule (he reportedly was on a conference call about Haiti before undergoing the procedure), "I have to keep working; it's what I should do. That's what my life is for. I was given a good mind, a strong body, and you know I've had a wonderful life. It would be wrong for me not to work. Hillary and I took some time off around the New Years. And we will continue to try to take more vacations. But I want to work. It's a good thing to do.”

One stop on his way back from New York-Presbyterian Columbia Hospital? The Starbucks in Chappaqua, where he ordered a black decaf. A worker said that Clinton was smiling and said, "I feel great!"

Clinton has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. He needs to quit working and retire.

I always thought Bill was a decent guy. He is certainly an extremely gifted politician. It's that no-talent, marxist dyke that's been riding his political coat-tails since she married him that I could do without.

    Donna Shalala?

I should have been more specific I suppose. Wasn't referring to Janet Reno either.

Makes me think of the scene in "My Fellow Americans" when James Garner takes a sip of Jack Lemmon's coffee, winces, and says, "Decaf? You pussy."
