Knicks Have an All Star!! David Lee Makes Squad

2010_02_leeallstar.jpg David Lee was named as a replacement All-Star yesterday and will join teammates Danilo Gallinari (3-point contest) and Nate Robinson (Slam-Dunk contest) in the festivities in Dallas. The 26 year-old Lee, replacing Allen Iverson on the Eastern Conference team, is averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds per game. Lee’s inclusion in the game gives the Knicks their first All-Star since 2001. 2001 was also the last year the Knicks had a winning record and the year they last won a playoff game. The Eastern Conference won the game that year on a shot by Stephon Marbury. Isn’t it great to be a Knicks’ fan?

Allen Iverson was ready to retire this year and still was voted to the All Star team. I am glad Lee made it onto the squad...

Isn’t it great to be a Knicks’ fan?

lol nope. Not after that 50 Point rout by the Mavs.

I think Peter was being sarcastic. It's been hell since Van Gundy, Houston, Spree, and Camby left...nearly 10 years ago.

I did sense the sarcasm, but I felt it still needed to be said. Its sad that the most valuable team in the NBA (And the team that brings in the most revenue) could suck so much.

To be honest, they have no incentive to get better, especially during a recession. They can still sell out the Garden even if they lose every single game.
