  • The Devils Get Kovalchuck: New Jersey made a bold trade, acquiring the 31-goal scorer and Anssi Salmela for three players and their first round pick in 2010. Adding Kovalchuck gives the Devils a very potent offensive weapon, something the Devils who are near the bottom of the league in scoring, sorely needed.

  • Washington 6 Rangers 5: The Capitals came in on an 11-game winning streak and extended it thanks to two goals in the third period. New York scored all five of their goals off the power play, but they took five penalties in the third period which Washington took advantage of..

  • Tampa Bay 5 Islanders 2: New York took a 2-1 lead in the second period, but Tampa tied the game up only 25 seconds later. They then added three more goals to rout the Islanders and Dwayne Roloson.
