Man Saved from Subway Tracks Tries to Roll Back Down!

phpaR81ddPM.jpg

Why are some people so drawn to the subway tracks? In the latest occurrence, Neighborhoodr reports that two men waiting on the E train platform at 42nd Street noticed this man passed out in the tracks. "Straphangers yelled at him to get off the tracks with no response. Hearing the train approaching, he and another guy jumped down, heaved the guy onto the platform and then lifted themselves out." But it didn't end there: the man then tried to roll back over and return to the comforting abyss of the tracks. Luckily for him, his rescuers managed to restrain him as the train rolled into the station.

And to think how many taxpayer dollars would have been saved if he was taken out.

Fools! The trench is entrance to Paradise.

This must be fairly common because this same thing happened at the Union Square stop when we spotted a guy down on the tracks like that was where he supposed to be. Fortunately for him a brave young Hispanic guy jumped down and pushed him up as I pulled him up. Then the dumb piece of shit told me I was hurting his arm. We managed to wrestle the walrus up and finally the cops came and it seems he does this quite often after leaving the methadone clinic down the block.

    Ew.

I saw a similar thing happen at the downtown 42nd platform once, and looking at the pic I'm almost convinced it's the same guy. I was standing on the platform and this guy just fell onto the tracks, didn't really seem drunk. I jumped down to heave him up and there were a couple subway construction workers nearby that helped out. Not sure what happened afterwards because I jumped on the train while the workers attended to him. Could he be a serial jumper?

But the trench is so comfy.

Geez, how unappreciative! I would have hated to be one of the guys who had to risk their lives to haul this drunkard off of the tracks and, on top of that, prevent him from rolling back down.

It must be warmer down there or something...

The guy was probably drunk as a skunk in a bunk.

@thefacts Just have to echo what you said. It takes courage I can hardly imagine to jump down onto tracks and lift a full-grown man up to the platform. Wow.

'Hero' is a much misused word of late. The press hails every act of bravery or skill as heroic.

But what these two guys did is truly heroic, risking their lives for another person as a train approached.

    Good going, guys.
