Bonchon Chicken: This Korean fried chicken chain is opening two new locations in New York, one in midtown and one in the financial district. Despite their creepy, mathematical approach to food (special sauce+specialized chicken+spice = customer satisfaction!), the chain has been wildly successful, thanks to their crispy, moist chicken wings. Chicken is available regular or hot, and "contain collagen ingredients promoting healthy and delicious texture and taste." Yum. Sides include saucy rice cakes and grilled corn. Beer and sake are available in the financial district and should be coming to midtown soon, according to The Feed.

Woodwork: Prospect Heights' latest seems to embody everything a hipster returning from a semester abroad might want; it's locavore, organic, corn-free, and plays soccer all the time. And actually, that sounds pretty cool. The bar is 150-year-old reclaimed wood from Massachusetts, and all paper products are biodegradable and recycled. The menu is simple bar fare, including cheeses and charcuterie, pretzels and pickles. One Yelp reviewer raves about the "macaroni and cheese with truffle oil." Wines start at $5 a glass, and soccer is always playing on the two flatscreens behind the counter.

MaximoPino Cafe: Open now in the West Village, this new Italian cafe offers authentic food to go for busy customers. With nearly everything imported from Italy, MaximoPino serves favorites like cornetti, cheesecake and cannoli. They're also rolling out their "famous" gelato-filled cupcakes. For something more substantial, they've also got fresh made pizzas, fresh espresso and authentic Italian hot chocolate—the kind that feels like warm pudding. MaximoPino will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week.

    if youre (not you the author, but you the photographer) going to make an artsy shot of grilled corn, at least make the corn look like corn, not like some yellow piece of turd.
