Anti-Obama Pamphlets Fall From The Sky...Again

2010_1_antiobama.jpg

Months after an anonymous pamphleteer tossed hundreds of copies of an anti-Obama poem from the top of a Downtown Brooklyn building, someone has reportedly thrown copies of the same obscene verse from the top of a building near the corner of 68th Street and Broadway. A Gothamist tipster writes:

"We just looked out the window and the sky was covered in falling paper. We went outside and collected some of the leaflets. They are essentially Obama threats... one says 'Fuck You Obama' and goes into a bizarre obscene poem, one is a fake state of the union address."

In September, someone threw copies of the poem—which includes the F word 29 times not counting the title—from an unfinished skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn's MetroTech complex (You can read a transcript of the poem here). This time, whoever tossed the papers also threw copies of a less obscene diatribe titled "The (Sorry Ass) 'State of the Union,'" which is written from the perspective of the President.

The content of the pamphlets isn't really that interesting, but it's worth pondering how the person or persons responsible keep getting onto the roofs or near the upper story windows of tall buildings without getting caught.

They dare to criticize Obama?? Those racists!

  • ides_of_march

How dare someone use their right to free speech to criticize the Obamessiah.

  • Papercutninja

Criticizing is one thing...but this is kooky, no? Just like the Bush as Hitler references marginalized the liberal argument against Bush, these sort of rambling extremist rants absolutely dilute any real message that the Right can use as legitimate criticisms of President Obama.

"these sort of rambling extremist rants absolutely dilute any real message that the Right can use as legitimate criticisms of President Obama."

nice try. Bowel-MoveOn has your check when you're ready.

Comrade, you forget, only flyers calling Bush "Hitler" and picturing him with a hole in his forehead are considered free speech. All else is "right wing propaganda" and must be banned, along with talk radio and the WWW.

Now get down and give me 100 "Changes you can believe in" and Gothamist will give you a pass for your transgressions.

it's just not a very eco-friendly way to do it. this sort of "criticism" is more easily marginalized (and better for the environment!) when sent via email.

What people are not ignorant enough to realise is that Obama knows he will be a punching bag and that's why assholes like this don't phase him.

Was it not the loyal patriatic americans that cheered bus on as he drove the country benath the dirt with his stupid illogical wars? Bush brought about 2 wars and all the good americans cheered him on, no one stop to think about who would be paying for both wars.Where the smartass financial analysts then to predict the down fall? There is no regulations, now that someone is willing to regulate he is hated.

All the policies that would help the masses are derailed by the rich minority, stupid people that think that they are smart but don't know crap.Everyone fought against the public option because of ignorance to a growing crisis. Everyone cried fo help now they are getting some sembelance of help they don't want it because let's face it "the black side" of Obama is just highly offensive.

That's the problem nobody is being very objective Obama came to help the middle class and has been trying so what's the damn problem?Yes he did not follow through with the war but blame the ediot that tried to start it.

Arguing with the author of a pamphlet like this makes you just as insane.

Kinda like the people I used to see on 6th Ave reading the crazy fliers attached to various poles. Most people seem to realize that some crazy person put them there, but I've seen a few actually read it, then get mad and rip the flier down. Once I'm pretty sure a tourist even went and pointed the flier out to a cop. I would have loved to have been close enough to hear what the cop had to say.

this idiots are so magnificent in their ignorance, they prefer even more years of abuses by Bush and Co, or Palin as Vice...Perfect morons.
