Bloomberg for Prez? No, Don't Worry

2009_10_mikeyb.jpg

Basking in the spotlight today, Mayor Bloomberg said he has "no plans" to run for president, despite having hired Howard Wolfson, Hillary Clinton's former campaign media strategist. When a reporter questioned the mayor's presidential aspirations Bloomberg responded, "I can't believe you're even asking," with an oh-so innocent smile, "There's no other political reason for him, whatsoever." But AP reported that Bloomberg "appeared to enjoy the speculation," which may even be why he brought Wolfson on to begin with. As he did during the mayor's 2008 election campaign, Wolfson will dazzle and distract us, just when we were losing patience with the calorie counts and agency swaps.

I'm sure the Heartland of America is just waiting for it's chance to vote for a dull Jewish billionaire from New York City.

it's not just gothamist. Every person that I know and their mother hates bloomberg with a passion.

During bloomberg's two terms, taxes, fines and fees increased severalfold in many sectors. as if that wasn't enough, he even "produced" new taxes, fines, and fees out of the blue in various sectors of nyc life. there have been countless bogus projects disguised as legitimate political policies beneficial for the people, which were nothing more than cover-ups for abusing BILLIONS of tax money for projects benefiting his own pockets, or the pockets of his developer, banker, mta, "fill in the blank" pals. there have been more cases than I can remember, in which millions of dollars mysteriously disappeared, or in which million dollar projects would drag on for years and ultimately someone would pull the plug and people would forget about where all that money went. thousands, if not tens of thousands of small businesses have gone bankrupt due to bloomberg's ridiculous policies, tax hikes, rent hikes, and tens of thousands of nyc residents have been driven out of the boroughs to other more affordable, less corrupt places to live. let's not go into the details, but everybody who has eyes and a brain knows bloomberg has been stealing and abusing this city and its money, and if you are denying such obvious facts, you must be on the other side. I've been living in new york for fifteen years and I've seen all the changes that have occurred during bloomberg's terms with my own eyes.
