Chachi Trashes Michelle, Gets Death Threats

phpypeCvGPM.jpg Brooklyn-born Scott Baio (he's from Dyker Heights, to be exact) is probably regretting his decision to open a Twitter account. The 48-year-old posted an unflattering picture of Michelle Obama on Tuesday, saying: "WOW He wakes up to this every morning." The Twitterverse quickly blew up, with many calling him out as being racist. Of course, it wasn't really racist, but Baio's backpeddling was pretty classic. He mentions numerous times that his wife's friend is black (even posting proof!), and of course, who can forget that time he worked with the Wayans brothers? The Daily News now reports that he's been on the receiving end of death threats for days, and has even contacted the FBI. Today he tried to direct the heat at J. Lo, asking his new followers if she's racist for calling Sarah Palin "a crazy bitch."

It's all about context, but I don't think it's racist to call someone ugly. That's your opinion.

Personally, Michelle Obama reminds me of that face shifting lady from that Seinfeld episode. Sometimes she looks gorgeous and elegant, other times (like that picture) she just looks scary. One can't argue, though, that she has a great body for a woman of her age.

People who cry racism all the time are the real racists.

Freedom of speech is pretty much dead in the US if people are actually receiving death threats for stating opinions now.

  • Biff Sluggo

    Sigourney Weaver could defeat her.

Firstly, who the fuck actually listens to anyone in the dumbassly named Twitterverse? Secondly, if Baio's comment is racist, then felixthecat is an insatiable carnivore. Thirdly, after looking at Baio's wife, he has EVERY reason in the world to say what he said.

Scott Baio's comment might not have been polite, but not finding Michelle Obama attractive does not make you a racist. I can't believe he's received death threats as a result. Or that it's 2010 and I'm talking about Scott Baio. Or that Scott Baio has such a cute wife. http://twitter.com/RealScottBaio/status/7956659225

I recall an extreme closeup of Ivana Trump's face on the cover of Spy that had everyone howling (with laughter). Price of fame, move along.

  • Snoopy

I've never seen that image and I must say that I am very happy I didn't.

  • Clarice City

Personally, I always thought Michelle Obama is cute as a button.

I really don't get why this is racist. I think people are going totally overboard here. Everyone likes to make fun of terribly unflattering politician/celebrity photos.

How about the time everyone laughed at Obama's "mom jeans"? Was that racist too?
