Slightly Mild Holiday Weekend on Tap

Hey, yesterday was four degrees warmer than normal! Today will be even warmer. It's a heat wave! Okay, not really, but the warmth should be enough to put a smile on the faces of everyone but the bitter Calvinist commenters who think winter was made for us to suffer. Assuming the morning clouds dissipate, today's high should reach the mid 40s for the first time in 2010.

Plenty of sun and a high near 45 will make Saturday the peachiest day of the holiday weekend. That's almost as charming as Christoph Niemann's personal weather forecast for 2010. A nor'easter running up the coast will bring clouds and eventually rain on Sunday. Look for a Sunday high around 40 with rain beginning in the afternoon.

Unlike the last several storms there's not much cold air behind this nor'easter. It may cool off enough Sunday night to bring a brief mix of rain, sleet and snow into Monday morning. Martin Luther King Day will see a high in the lower 40s. Most of next week looks to be seasonable or even warmer than normal.
