Flight 1549: Now An Eatery in Hell's Kitchen

phpPd6Pt4PM.jpg

An eagle-eyed reader noticed that Google Maps has placed US Airways Flight 1549 at West 42nd Street and 10th Avenue. Not only is Google's version of Sullenberger's landing a much more tragic one, blocks from the real watery landing spot in the Hudson... it's also listed as an eatery!

They've also got the Death Of John Lennon marked on 72nd Street as though it's a dinner theater event you can watch unfold.

Prankster. Anyone with a Google account (meaning anyone who uses gmail, for one thing) can add a business to the map:

If you just go to Google maps and search 'US Airways flight 1549' you'll be shown the correct point in the river.

We all know that they don't serve food on airplanes anymore!

I've noticed that Google's Points of Interest are... well, all over the map, you might say.

Noticed the same thing as well. Places are not where they should be.
