More Animal Abuse Caught On Tape In The Grant Houses

Why all the fuss about animal abuse ? Like anyone on this site has NEVER abused an animal . While I don't agree with any of what those people did to there pets, No has the right to criticize them for it . I don't hear you all bitching about pet owners who walk there dogs in frigid weather, Or in Oppressive heat ! What about all the other animals that go abused ? Birds, Fish, etc ? What about them ? Don't they deserve the same level of attention? Personally, I believe that parents that strap their kids into those bike seats and go tooling around the city are guilty of child abuse ! I just went and watched the first video for the first time, and while this one here is pretty pathetic and despicable, it is not nearly as awful as the Chris Grant one. Don't get me wrong: they should both go to jail and be beaten severely in the prison showers, but this woman seems less depraved and psychotic than that guy did. She looks like she got angry for the dog's relieving itself, whereas Grant started mercilessly beating and taunting his dog for no apparent reason.

I completely agree with you. I think that before any purchase an animal the pet shop or the ASPCA should offer some course in how to properly care for your animal. Some people are not aware that caring for an animal is a lot of work and requires dedication. The ASPCA should have arrested for those that really displays cruelty to animals like burns, bits, etc. Hopefully she has learned from her mistake and we the people can let her move forward. Chris on the other hand is different he kick the dog just for standing there.

Again where in the video did she beat the damn dog unconscious? Actually there are no clips in the vid that supports that statement. And legally for her or chris to be kicked out of housing should not be soley on their actions, but if the really broke any housing rules or regulations.

Snapping a dog's leash or tapping them with your foot is a perfectly acceptable training technique. However, it seems that this was more of a kick than a foot tap, and holding your dog by its leash and slamming it to the ground is not a leash snap.

Plus, anyone with half a brain knows that unless you correct a dog while in the act, it's pointless. If I find pee on the ground after my dog has relieved herself, yelling at her makes no sense to her. You also have to give 4 times as much encouragement than discouragement.

If these people can't behave properly with a dog, I can only imagine how terrible they are with kids (who are 10 times more difficult to be patient with).

I agree with others here: anyone living in subsidized housing should not be allowed to have a dog. If you're receiving taxpayer-funded rent-abatement or welfare, you should be required to receive less money to compensate. Why are pets even allowed in subsidized housing?

I seriously want to THANK NYPD for at least exposing this and releasing the video to the public. I saw this video last night on NY1. ASPCA is voluntarily and not equipped to handle all the animal abuse cases in NYC. I wish there was an animal cruelty unit in NYPD. Thank you NYPD for looking out for those that need it the most. in order to receive this license, you must take animal training courses and prove that you are financially able to care for an animal. Make the course fee $50 or more and I guarantee this drastically improves the lives of animals in NYC.

People would acquire animals even without such a permit and police would never enforce such a law anyway because going to the projects to do so would be another case of "profiling."
