Uh-Oh: Police Called to Dominic Carter's House Again

2009_10_carterd.jpg Looks like Dominic Carter's career-reboot has hit another snag: the Ramapo Town Police are once again investigating the embattled newsman for wife-beating. The cops visited the Carter home yesterday, and a sealed police report has been filed concerning a Thursday night incident, but Marilyn Carter is denying anything happened: "It's not true whatsoever.. I just had lunch with Dominic . . . I have not filed any police report. Nothing happened last night." The former anchor also denied the charge, saying "There was no incident at my house."

If the charge proves true, it's another dramatic reversal for Carter, who just six days ago gave an interview apologizing for his behavior and saying that he had "dropped the ball as a man." And it's certainly not going to help his efforts to return to the anchor desk at NY1, where he's been on indefinite leave since October. Carter still faces sentencing on January 14th on his domestic-abuse conviction— so this report couldn't come at a worse possible time for him. He faces up to three months in jail.
