Map of the Day: Netflix By Neighborhoods

2010_1_netflix.jpg

The mad scientists at the New York Times multimedia department have cooked up another insane mashup: heat maps for the top rentals in each zipcode in a dozen US cities. Some movies, like "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" seem to be popular just about everywhere (because let's be honest, who doesn't like Brad Pitt?) while others, like Mad Men and Tyler Perry's Madea Goes To Jail seem to be popular in specific neighborhoods (hint: Tyler Perry is not among the top 50 movies anywhere in Manhattan below 110th Street.) Biggest surprise: Twilight is astoundingly popular in the Bronx and Staten Island! Do you notice any other odd patterns?

"Biggest surprise: Twilight is astoundingly popular in the Bronx and Staten Island!"

all kids go apeshit for twilight, regardless of race, class, or borough. get a clue, get some more diverse staff members, or just change the site's name to be more true to your almost exclusive perspective from white-NY.

Do you have anything constructive to offer or do you just love to complain?

People in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens have lots of kids too. Why even waste your time reading this elitist website if you're so down with the people?

And your website is located where?
