While these neighbors may have a racist agenda, I can tell you first hand (I live less than a block away from a Muslim Center in Jackson Hts) that SOME of their fears are not far off base. Most annoying is the broadcast of their prayers that can be heard throughout the neighborhood sometimes at wee hours in the morning, although I'll give credit to this owner admitting that most places do and they won't. These centers also most certainly bring increased auto traffic, double parking and blocking of driveways. It's all good till it happens in your neck of the woods!

The Greeks do the same Sunnyside, Queens. On 48th Avenue and 43rd Street, they blast the karaoke outdoors during Greek Easter. It's annoying to be a neighbor from one of these joints.

Muslim's should be free to practice their religion freely, but stories like the one above don't seem like some muslims are willing to let the rest of the world practice whatever they want freely.
