Brooklyn Post Office Mail Fail

phppU3wb9AM.jpg Even when the USPS is trying to help, they're messing things up. Since their long, insufferable lines have caused so much grief, they decided to send out tens of thousands of postcards to Mill Basin customers, directing them to an alternate place to mail letters and buy stamps during the busy holiday season. How helpful... except they printed the wrong address.

According to the Daily News, the mailer started going in early December, and was sent to around 29,000 residences. It told customers to go to an empty storefront at 2005 Avenue U, when the real address was 1958 Ralph Avenue — 3.5 miles away. One customer told the paper, "If I go to the wrong address, I'm done [with the post office]. It just tells you some one's asleep at the wheel."

A USPS spokeswoman says, "Now what they're going to do to correct it is send out another post card mailing" to the 29,000 residences. Sounds like a waste of someone's money.

Why are Brooklyn postal workers such incompetent, lazy, stupid pieces of dung?

and for some reason we expect government to do a good job with healthcare.

in my opinion we should get rid of the usps and let private companies do the job

My health insurance company has fucked up a lot more things than an address on some mass mailing.

The USPS is a private company. No taxpayer money is used.

They can have tax money if Congess approves. For the last 30 years, Congress hasn't approved.

Sure... but I could have tax money, too, if Congress would approve.

So write your congressman, I did.

  • DaleyGrind

You're right about the zero tax dollars but, FWIW, the USPS is "independent agency of the United States government" and such has certain federal powers afforded it that private entities don't.
