  • Rangers 5 Dallas 2: You know Sean Avery had this one circled on the calendar. Ever since some of his Dallas teammates took shots at him on his way out the door, Avery had to want a chance at revenge. He got it Wednesday, playing with the passion and grittiness that has been missing far too often from his game this year. Avery ended up with four points, having a hand in every Rangers’ goal except the empty-netter at the end and he spent 12 minutes in the sin bin. Henrik Lundqvist made 25 saves, some of them very tough ones to earn the victory. The Rangers can only hope that this sparks Avery to return to his old ways.
  • Atlanta 119 Nets 89: The Nets followed their usual pattern of falling behind early and giving up on defense. Atlanta shot 57% and 59% from the three-point line as they cruised to an easy win.
  • Islanders 3 Colorado 2: Kyle Okposo broke up a 2-2 tie with his 7th goal of the year to give the Islanders the road victory.

victory is best served with a side of revenge.

    From The Hockey News:

Now the Stars and Rangers are splitting Avery's salary, a point not lost on the loquacious Avery when he was asked what was different about this game.

"Well, I was getting paid by two teams," Avery said.

    Classic.
