Report: Rush Limbaugh Rushed To Hospital

2009_05_rushl.jpg Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh was rushed to a hospital in Honolulu with chest pains last night, according to TV station KITV, which reports, "Paramedics responded to the call at 2:41 p.m. at the Kahala Hotel and Resort... Limbaugh was sitting in a chair in his ninth-floor hotel room at the Kahala when emergency crews arrived, sources said. He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said. Paramedics treated him and took him to Queen's Medical Center in serious condition. He will not be released from the hospital on Wednesday night." Update 9 a.m.: Limbaugh is now "resting comfortably"—a statement from his show reads, "Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes, and he will keep you updated via RushLimbaugh.com."

So now we know he couldn't fart and it was caught up in his chest. That can mask itself as a heart attack for many people. It's probably due to lack of the "Dough Boy" exercising.I find it downright laughable that this Multi-Millionaire proclaims our health care system is just fine. How typical of the Dough Boy.

  • NannyState

That fat asshole is having a little press conference at the hospital today. I wonder if he's going to break down with the fake schnitzing about being a "victim of prescription drugs"?

  • jpeditor

For all you liberal losers whining about Rush and Oxy, maybe you can let us know how you know if when OBOZO stopped doing coke like he admitted in "his" book?

I'm going to ask an honest question of the conservative Rush fans here:

Don't you WANT him to die?

The guy is way, way past his prime. He used to be funny and clever with his rhetoric. He was entertaining and smart (or crafty, depending on your attitude). I listen to a conservative radio for the outrage factor, so I've heard quite a bit of Rush. After a year or two hiatus from hearing any Rush Limbaugh, I turned in to random conservative radio and thought "Man, these guys nowadays suck. They aren't funny, they aren't clever, they just scream and yell and say the stupidest possible thing you can imagine. What ever happened to Rush Limbaugh?"

Then, of course, I found out it WAS RL I was listening to. He'd completely slipped from the quality he used to offer.

Rush is an embarrassment. He can no longer string two thoughts together, he ain't entertaining, he ain't logical, and at every turn he reveals himself as a liar and hypocrite. And all of this is just going to get worse. The best possible thing Rush could do for the conservative cause is to quietly slip into the void.

"He told medical crews that he was taking medication for a back problem, sources said."

Autofellatio isn't recommended for a man of his age. He'll just have to make do with his usual disguises and more trips to the video arcade.

Or a man of his girth (around the waist, that is).

  • Mr. Shankly

    Thanks for the modifier.

Calling the Rush's (and Hannity's and Beck's etc.) of the world "conservative" is an insult to actual conservatism. While I disagree with many conservative views, at least I can respect the position.

What pieces of shit like Rush are is "authoritarian," which is a perversion of conservatism. My man John Dean explains it magnificently, so I'll give the floor to him:

"Republicans rule, rather than govern, when they are in power by imposing their authoritarian conservative philosophy on everyone, as their answer for everything. This works for them because their interest is in power, and in what it can do for those who think as they do. Ruling, of course, must be distinguished from governing, which is a more nuanced process that entails give-and-take and the kind of compromises that are often necessary to find a consensus and solutions that will best serve the interests of all Americans.

Republicans' authoritarian rule can also be characterized by its striking incivility and intolerance toward those who do not view the world as Republicans do. Their insufferable attitude is not dangerous in itself, but it is employed to accomplish what they want, which is to take care of themselves and those who work to keep them in power.

Authoritarian conservatives are primarily anti-government, except where they believe the government can be useful to impose moral or social order (for example, with respect to matters like abortion, prayer in schools, or prohibiting sexually-explicit information from public view). Similarly, Republicans' limited-government attitude does not apply regarding national security, where they feel there can never be too much government activity - nor are the rights and liberties of individuals respected when national security is involved. Authoritarian Republicans do oppose the government interfering with markets and the economy, however - and generally oppose the government's doing anything to help anyone they feel should be able to help themselves."

The authoritarian dittoheads that follow this asshole tend to hate Ron Paul (who's an actual conservative) and would consider the late Barry Goldwater to be a fuckin liberal!

Oh, and SP - keep up the good work.

I'm not a Rush fan but people do learn things in the journey of life. A quote 17 years ago is meaningless. If you kept true to every opinion and statement that you said over a decade ago it would mean that you have not learned anything. Maybe for you that is the case. Also, Your case for justifying intolerance is idiotic. You said "No tolerance for the intolerant". Saying someone is intolerant is very arbituary. My view of intolerance could be different than yours. Didn't the neocons use this as one of the reasons to invade Iraq? That we should have no tolerance for that evil intolerant regime.

SP, Your liberal hypocrasy knows no bounds.

  • EastRiver

But if you don't dig up old quotes how do you play gotcha politics? /end sarcasm

  • Dead Himmler

That was supposed to be a reply to SP.

I want to let you read along with me a quote from Jerry Colangelo about substance abuse, and I think you'll find that he's very much right…"I know every expert in the world will disagree with me, but I don't buy into the disease part of it. The first time you reach for a substance you are making a choice. Every time you go back, you are making a personal choice. I feel very strongly about that."...

What he's saying is that if there's a line of cocaine here, I have to make the choice to go down and sniff it….And his point is that we are rationalizing all this irresponsibility and all the choices people are making and we're blaming not them, but society for it. All these Hollywood celebrities say the reason they're weird and bizarre is because they were abused by their parents. So we're going to pay for that kind of rehab, too, and we shouldn't. It's not our responsibility. It's up to the people who are doing it. And Colangelo is right.

    --Rush Limbaugh TV show (9/23/93)

In the audio link below, I go into detail about these non-thinking talking points that "you can't tell people what to do with their bodies" and "you can't legislate morality." First of all, we tell people what they can do to their bodies all the time--no cocaine, no prostitution, no throwing yourself off a building. Second, laws are nothing but defining morality!

    --RushLimbaugh.com (6/27/03)

Pretty funny. Considering this a guy who goes on whoring trips in the Dominican Republic with a stock of Viagra pills for which he has no prescription.

  • There's probably more to this than meets the eye. Remember, Rush has a history of addiction.

  • ForrestWhitaker

ahahaha at anyone defending this scumbag. Rush Limbaugh is a disease. It doesn't take a liberal or a conservative to see that.

  • irvinghowe

it's great to see the birchers coming out to support their guy. what will you do without him and his misinformational guidance? it's not a liberal/conservative debate. it's about being happy that someone who suffers from verbal diarrhea may no longer be able to defecate all over the feeble ignorant minds that make up the fringe element.

  • ozik

I wonder if Rush is happy that he's being forced to use a licensed doctor now? Anyone remember about two years before he admitted his drug addiction, he kept talking about how doctors should be license-optional, and that anyone who wants to should be able toc all themselves a doctor and prescribe whatever medicines they like - if the market will bear it.

  • jchez

    Quote of the day:

"The people calling for Rush Limbaugh to die are the same people who ask to control your healthcare."

  • Amanda Harletsch

    very insightful!
