I'm sorry for the FDU student's family, but gimme a break. The guy was old enough to be responsible, and apparently knowingly broke the rules. The university isn't responsible for his terminal idiocy.

Someone tell Basil Patterson to be quiet. If the current governor or any sitting politician can't beat a primary challenge then they do not deserve to win. The end.

Of course, he didn't have to comment. The article doesn't say what the context of that was -- did a reporter ask him about that at a general press briefing or one held for some other reason, or did he actually schedule time to talk about this?

Obviously if it was the latter he didn't have to do that, and if if was the former he could easily have said "I'm the Commissioner, you'll have to ask the detectives who are on the case."

But, Kelly likes his tabloid appearances, even if perhaps not as much so as Gosselin.
