Coffee Can Save Your Life, Maybe

php6sjdtcPM.jpg If you were thinking about giving up coffee in the new year: think again! The Wall Street Journal declares it might be saving your life. Seriously, they say if you drink two cups a day you'll even be less suicidal. Other scientific facts include: those drinking up to four cups a day are 25% less likely to develop Type 2 diabetes; men who drink at least six cups a day have a 60% lower risk of developing advanced prostate cancer; five cups a day can lower your risk of Alzheimer's by 65%... and so on. And all you're left with is a life-long addiction, and probably the shakes.

  • I drink 2-4 cups a day, and I've never thought about killing myself... but seriously, the reports in media about how coffee affects humans is confusing, to say the least. One week it's great for you, next week it's gonna kill you, etc. I love to drink coffee, and I'll continue whatever news the science reports bring to the table.

    how to make good coffee.

I just hope that people who don't drink coffee get diabetes, alzheimers, and prostate cancer so they die a fucking death already and STFU.

Fabulous! The justification I've been waiting for! I knew it was good stuff, I'm drinking my 3rd cup right now!

The addiction leads to caffeine poisoning. I had it many years ago. After walking around all day with a coffee cup and ready access to the brew, around 3PM I would get the shakes and start sweating. The diagnosis was correct and I cut back on consumption and the symptoms disappeared.

I wonder if my insurance covers my coffee consumption.

They keep on trying to find things bad about coffee to convince people not to drink the stuff, and they never succeed.

There are some bad things about coffee. Other than making it harder to sleep (for some reason it doesn't affect me in this area), it is fattening and gives you bad breath. It can screw up your digestion.

However, it is a strong antitoxidant and there are real offsetting health benefits.
