Crooks With Screwdrivers Invade Midwood Home, Steal Ferrari

Thieves with screwdrivers broke into a Midwood home, locked two children and a housekeeper in the bathroom, and stole the family's 2010 Ferrari, according to police. The perps broke into the house — which is near East Seventh Street and Quentin Road — through a side door yesterday at around 7 pm and encountered a 12-year-old girl doing homework in the basement. "My sister thought they were firemen, and she led them to me," 17-year-old victim Isaac Douek told the Daily News.

The crooks then forced the children and the maid into a bathroom while they looted the residence (the parents weren't home at the time). The Post reports that the thieves only stole the car, but Douek — whose father owns the Manhattan camera shop Willoughby's — told the tabloid: "They ransacked the house. They took everything. We can't even keep track of what they got away with."

On their way out, they grabbed the keys to the family's black Ferrari, which was parked in the driveway (it's unclear if they noticed the family's Maserati, which was parked across the street from the home and partly hidden by the snow). As the thieves drove off in the sports car, one of the victims managed to call police — who spotted the car but lost it. The crooks escaped, but they ditched the Ferrari, which is valued at $200,000, four miles away at McDonald Avenue and 20th Street, according to the Post.

That's your basic entry level Ferrari. No loss.

It wasn't damaged. If it was, it would have been a $500,000 Ferrari".

"Hey man, you just fucked up your Ferrari."

    "It's not mine!"

Sounds like amateur hour on the side of both the family and the thieves.

I'm just thankful the theives didn't know about the crowns and scepters.

seriously-- who parks a Maserati in the street during a snowstorm?

"We can't even keep track of what they got away with."

Obviously then they have too much

Rather than parking the Ferrari in the garage in winter I always leave it out in the driveway to flaunt my wealth. Then again the garage is filled with lawn chairs, a basketball net, ski's, charcoal grill, lawn mower, inflatable swimming pool, you know the things I value most in life. As for the Maserati it has four thousand miles on it and the ashtrays are full so I just park it on the street. No one bothers it.

i understand that it was a home invasion and all, but if you're driving a Ferrari and a Maserati you probably need a garage? And also not live in Brooklyn?

    Papercutninja,

You obviously have heard of the Syrian Jews or been around their hood around Ocean parkway in Brooklyn.

They own the biggest mansions in brooklyn and drive some rediculous cars. I was just walking around yesterday and there were a bunch of Maseratis, Bentleys, Aston Martins, and SL Benzes on the streets covered with snow. These people dont care about their cars.
