She was 63 years old and in Santa Monica at the time of her death. Oh man... this brought me back. Way back.

It's always nice to be reminded of your childhood from time to time. She was most definitely a part of my childhood.

    Rest in peace.

How bizarre -- I grew up with the original Sesame Street, and Olivia, David, Gordon, Bob, Susan, et. al. were the big, smart, important grownups who taught me to read, write and count. But looking at this clip now, they look so... young.

    And I feel so... old.

Very sorry she's gone. She was part of my childhood. RIP, Alaina. :(

When Sesame Street first came out, I was around ten or eleven, and I thought I was too "old" for it. Six or Seven years later, I started smoking pot and all of a sudden, those Muppets and all that great music finally made sense!

    Great choice of clip, Gothamist!

    And RIP Alaina.
