Macy's Open For Business After Fire

So what was the scene like inside of Macy's Herald Square yesterday, as their flagship store went up in flames? Okay, it was just a small fire, but it evacuated the store as thick, black smoke traveled throughout floors. One tourist said, "I don’t know why they didn’t immediately evacuate the [entire] building. I was very scared."

The NY Post explains that, "at first, officials evacuated only the third and fourth floors but then emptied the entire store after an electrical fire began shortly after 4 p.m. under an escalator between floors for ladies’ apparel and shoes." They also note that cashiers and customers rushed out the exits, so maybe some people landed some free Christmas gifts! There were no injuries reported (just some damage to merchandise), so as far as we know, Santa is doing just fine; and the store is now open 24 hours a day until Christmas Eve.

My post has nothing to do with the Macy's fire, but I have to say that those fucking American Apparel Josh and Sarah Unsexy ads are the most disturbing images... please get rid of them asap.

I looked at the ad again and I think there is a typo in the ad. They spell the word "unisexy" with an "I." I believe the proper spelling is "un-sexy," with a hyphen.

I agree-something not right about that ad.

It's criminal what they are doing to very innocent clothing. I vote to send them away for a very long time.

The elves all had to be evacuated too. Apparently they all stood on the corner and sang Christmas carols with a bunch of weird guys in trench coats with white sideburns and red pants.
