I wonder if it was the wooden escalators. you can always smell the machinery oil on those things and why does it seem like it's giving off heat?

It wouldn't be all that surprising, in 1987 King's Cross Underground Station in London suffered a serious fire which killed 31 people. The fire had started in the location of a station escalator which had been installed prior to the Second World War (like the Macy's Escalators, this one featured wooden parts such as the steps and the sides). It is believed that a discarded match started the blaze, having dropped through the escalator into the running track beneath the escalator which hadn't been cleaned in years.

Oh the smell of overheated escalator machinery motor oil reminds me of the good old days. I remember as a child going to Macy's at Christmas time and smelling the fragrant odor of that same escalator. It was like a miracle on 34th street.

I told you the problem started with all them fat people on the escalator. Some people don't listen and here are the results.

Now if those people were biking rather than shopping then this would never have occurred.

Fat people get stuck in those 1 person wire escalators, then fall, then everyone falls onto of them.

"I come all the way down here and Macy's is on fire... no lie, shit is flaming."

There's no reason to dis the employees just because their store is on fire.
