Where's the Snow?

Night has fallen, and so have snow flurries—but it's not at the six-to-nine-inch or foot predictions yet. And New Yorkers are impatient to see some snow insanity (especially the ones that braved going to packed grocery stores to stock up!).

Apparently the snow will get heavier during the evening. WCBS 2's weather producer Giorgio Panetta says, "We could definitely have a foot of snow out of this storm. There will be periods of blizzard-like conditions across the tri-state with gusting winds and low visibility. Especially Saturday night."

It's only a foot of snow at most, people. Jeez, This isn't Montreal or Canada, but come on hasn't anyone ever seen snow? I'm pretty sure you can get to the supermarket just fine.

Just came back from "Destination" on Ave. A, the locals are having the time of their lives. Bridge and tunnel shitheads are slippin & slidin and freaking out. Must suck to be from Jersey or Lawn Guyland tonight!

  • Marius

Yes, if only it was those luminaries of capitalism Chase or Verizon that was privately clearing out our streets. How is it that anything involving 15 or more Americans gets so horribly inefficient?

Just went outside and measured, 5.5in in union square, foot deep drifts in places. Some jackass in a volvo slid through the intersection at 17th and Bway and almost took out some people on the sidewalk. Todays the day to leave the car at home.

Roscoe Conkling's death was brought on in weather just like this in Union Square. So stay inside unless you run out of milk, bread and/or snow shovels.

This is New York! In case you haven't figure out...everything runs on delays. Including mother nature.

Holy beshiznit is it nasty outside. Took the dog out and she refused to go further than three feet outside the building. I'm pretty sure she got snow lodged up her ass by the wind. It's blowing that hard.

  • Snoopy

I would suggest getting a larger dog next time.

  • nicemarmot

Snoopy wants me to get a bigger dog? But my dog is Snoopy-sized!

  • Snoopy

Snoopy the dog in the Peanuts cartoon is beagle sized as I remember. I was thinking for you a dog more on the size of Marmaduke. Only to get your dog's butt problem solved.

I chose the name Snoopy to reflect my kind, generous and loving outlook I have on the world around me. It has no relationship to my manhood size.

I can't wait till the morning to see how much Al Gore they have to scrape off the sidewalks.

  • Thespis

Well that was certainly speaking too soon, since it's snowing like a Russian bitch at the moment. We walked out into it, thinking it would be a trip. Holy Frosty Mama, was it ever freezing -- and blowing hard. We walked two blocks, and I swear I have snow in my ears...

This is impressive -- I don't think I've seen it snow this hard here in years.

  • Snoopy

Just keep your pants zipper closed and I am sure you will be able to outlast the storm.

  • Snoopy

Still no plows. Does anyone know when Dunkin Donuts closes? Plus I love the fact that they didn't pick up the recyclables today considering the snow really didn't start until late in the afternoon.

I guess it has to do with that magic work incentive called "double overtime." You have to love the unions.

  • Türküm Lan

You should go out and check it out now.. Don't speak too soon... DUH.

  • jimmy

"Where's the snow?" haha, Jen that was exactly what I've been saying all day! Apparently it's going to be an overnight show. Boo.

  • NannyState

Any snowflakes stick around here, they're paying rent.

I have a feeling the worst will slide out east and south of us, that's what it's done so far

People aren't taking this global warming well. There are hundreds of accidents out there. This global warming is freezing my balls off.

  • Snoopy

Nature and nature alone is responsible for all this global warming stuff. If it didn't get cold in the winter people wouldn't need to have furnaces, except for hot water of course. And if it wasn't hot in the summer people wouldn't need air conditioning. So it's definitely Mother Nature's fault. No card this year for her come May 9th.
