Jets Fight For Lives Against Banged-Up Falcons

After surviving last week in Tampa without Mark Sanchez, the Jets return home to face another NFC South opponent when they host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Sanchez, the mistake-prone -- and apparently injury-prone -- quarterback, is back from his sprained knee ligament. He's secondary. The Jets' defense and the ground game will be called upon heavily in this one.

Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will try to add Atlanta's Roddy White to the long list of receivers he has neutralized. If Chris Redman and not Matt Ryan starts at quarterback for Atlanta, that task will get that much easier. Michael Turner, the Falcons' running back, is also questionable with an ankle injury. If either one misses the game, the Jets have no excuse for losing.

The Jets trail both the Dolphins and the Patriots in the AFC East, and they don't have the tiebreaker against either. After the Falcons, the Jets face the unbeaten Colts in Indianapolis and then the Bengals, who could be locked into their playoff seed, at home in Week 17. Playoffs aren't kookie talk at this point, but they aren't likely yet, either.

I feel like it's unfair to call a rookie qb mistake-prone. All rookie qbs are mistake-prone. Give him a year or two, then we'll see if he really sucks or not.
